The most, which is rare, that I would lend is ten bucks, after that. If they don't wanna pay me back, and make themselves scarce...it was worth it.

Clothes that you really, really like -- probably won't give it back, and if they do, they'll possibly smell.

Tools that you use -- as soon as you loan your friend something, you'll need it, regardless of how long it's been since you used it.

Games (Wii, PS, Xbox) -- they'll always be "just about to finish it" for weeks.

Not only could they possibly smell, which is disgusting enough, but they might come back with some not so cute "designs" also known as STAINS (EWWWW)!

My uncle once told there are two things he never lends-his Corvette and his wife. He said it was too easy to throw a rod in both.

At least help your friends with everything you have. Give whatever you have and don't ask them to return it if they can't.

Seriously guys, if you loan your best friend of many years money... get it in f-ing writing! I also learned this the hard way and while I did not mind losing the "friend", I do still miss that hard-earned cash and broken trust. Remember, you can easily google for standard loan contracts nowadays.
