He learned how to sell automobiles from a lot, insurance from an office and even interviewed cult recruiters to learn and teach what gets people to say 'yes' to requests of all sorts. Cialdini hasn't sold me anything. I would see him coming from a mile away. I know what I want when I buy and any efforts to persuade me to buy something else just makes me laugh.

the trouble with being officious is you wouldn't get repeat customers; once they get home, they realise they were conned and you'll never see them again.
